Strath Lions Soccer Club - Players Wanted

Strathalbyn Christian College started a Soccer Club in 2018.  The decision to start  the Club was three fold:

  1. The Soccer competition in Geraldton has an excellent junior program with a code of conduct, structure and expected behaviour of the entire sporting community that resounds with our Christian values.
  2. We wanted greater opportunity to input further into community building by equipping our students at a deeper level with Godly modelling in the realm of competitive sport.
  3. We wanted our students to be able to play the world game and not have their participation impact church attendance as a family.

We had an excellent season in 2018 fielding one team in the Under 13 division.  This year we will be fielding 4 teams, U/8’s, U/10’s U/12’s and U14’s.  Games for our Club will start after 12:00pm on Sundays to ensure families can still attend their local church services and participate in their church community.

May I encourage you, as parents, that this is also an excellent outreach opportunity into the wider community.

All of our coaches are committed Christians who aim to make known the Lordship of Jesus Christ in all areas of their life.  Winning and losing presents excellent lessons for Biblical discipleship that enable our students to be salt and light into the sporting arena as they enter adulthood.  If you have children that are interested in playing soccer, we have places available in our teams.
