Welcome Feast
What a wonderful time we had last night at the Welcome Feast. Thanks to all the families who RSVP’d and came along. Many thanks to the Geraldton Christian Commmunity Schools Association members and staff who helped with set up and clean up, and also making salads for the night. We hope you all got to make some new friends as we welcomed our new families and staff to the College.
We enjoyed having Levi McGrath performing as our special guest at the Welcome Feast. Gavin Hirschhausen, Principal, caught up with Levi this morning to have a chat.
Kapture School Photos
TUESDAY 24 AND WEDNESDAY 25 MARCH
Our school photo day is coming! Kapture Photography personalised flyers have been sent home with students this week. The only method of ordering your photos is online through the Kapture website as your payment is secure and can be easily verified at any time.
Sibling orders can ONLY be placed online by Midday, Friday 20 March. Late requests cannot be granted. We suggest you place your sibling order as soon as you receive your flyer with your order instructions as places are limited.
You can place an order online for class or individual photographs at any time for the remainder of the current school year. However, a $20 fee will apply if you order more than 10 days after photography.
If your child is in a sports or special group photo, you can use the same school code on your information flyer to view and order these photos on the Kapture website, around the time that school photos are ready to be delivered. Please note class groups, individual and sibling portraits are not available to view online prior to purchase.
Kapture offer a money back guarantee for any parent who is not fully satisfied with their photo package. Should you have any queries before or after photo day, please direct them to the Kapture office on 9240 1714 or email enquiries@kapture.com.au.
All students will be photographed individually on photo day for school administration records AS WELL as included in their class group photo available for purchase to all families. Should there be any reason why your child should NOT be included in the photo shoot – please contact the school office.

Year 10 Food Technology
This week Year 10 students experienced chickpeas in a whole new way. They made a flour free, low sugar chickpea chocolate cake which is high fibre and protein, as well as a great tasting treat. Yum!
Strath Lions Soccer Club
Club Players from 2019 have been contacted this week to register to play in 2020.
On Monday next week, we will be emailing information to remaining College families. If you are keen for your children to play soccer for Strath Lions this year, keep an eye on your email in box and register them as soon as possible. If there are any remaining spaces once spaces have been filled by SCC students, these will be offered to the wider Geraldton community.
For those who are new to the College, the Club have an agreement with the Soccer Association that Strath Lions games are scheduled close to lunch time or later so that families can still attend Church in the morning.
Soccer Boot Donations
Do you have soccer boots at your house that aren’t being worn? Strath Lions Soccer Club will willingly take any soccer boots that your children have outgrown that you would be willing to pass on to the school. We have a number of families who would be blessed being able to obtain new boots for their children this season.
Next week we will email information to SCC families who might be interested in their children playing for Strath Lions this season.

Levi McGrath
Sun City Youth will be hosting Christian Musician Levi McGrath at their Youth Group Friday evening from 6.30pm. See details in the flyer below. Levi will also be at Sun City Christian Centre’s Sunday evening service at 5.00pm.

Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes
Thank you to everyone who donated items to go in our Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes last year from the College.

Sports Plus Residential Camp
Sports Plus is a six day, intensive residential camp with specialist sports coaching and team competitions for young people who are serious about sport and play regularly in a club or team. Sports Plus is the perfect way to improve in your sport, while exploring more about the Christian faith and what it means to be a Christian athlete.
Sports Plus Perth has a reputation for its professionalism in delivering high quality coaching and giving young athletes the opportunity to explore the Christian faith. We continue to hear stories how young athletes are growing in passion for their sport and Christ.
Sports Plus is a 6 day, fully residential camp held at Guildford Grammar School from July 12-17th 2020. Sports Plus is for Years 7-12. We have a number of sports on offer this year where the young athletes attending can choose to specialise in: cricket, rugby, hockey, netball, tennis, soccer, AFL, triathlon and basketball. All our coaches are passionate about living out their faith in Christ and have either competed or coached at state level or higher.
