End of Term What an amazingly busy term we have had. Time has certainly flown by and it’s hard to believe we are almost at the end of another year. Bike-a-thon and Mountain Bike Track Official Opening We have a busy day planned at the College tomorrow with the Bike-a-thon happening from 1.00-2.30pm, and the Mountain Bike Track Official Opening from 3.00-8.00pm. Information about both events has been emailed to parents/guardians today. We hope you will all come along and support these great community-building events. Primary Interschool Cross Country Last Friday 11 September, selected Primary students competed in the annual Interschool Cross Country Carnival. Worship Band On Friday Mornings, staff gather together for a time of worship at the start of the day. This morning Mr Gibson and the Worship Band led worship for us, which was so wonderful. How blessed we are to have a dedicated team of students who practice together every Thursday lunch time, and lead worship at Assemblies at school, etc. Next Sunday afternoon, 20 September, the Worship Band and Primary Sing Out Choir will be performing “The Blessing” at Songs of Praise at the Holy Cross Cathedral. ACC Athletics Carnival 4 September Well done Team Strath! You have made the whole community super proud with a sensational effort as Runners Up overall, by a close 53 point difference, at the Carnival. Commitment, hard work and contagious positive attitudes contributed to a very successful ACC. It was a positive start from the word go with only two athletes from the initial team withdrawing due to injury. Year 10 Carnarvon Mission Trip Year 10 students and accompanying staff have had a wonderful time up in Carnarvon this week. They have been busy doing activities with Carnarvon Christian School students, and also found some time to go sightseeing to the Blow Holes, had a visit to the Carnarvon Space Museum and a Banana Plantation. They also did acts of service in the Carnarvon community, with gardening, yard clean ups etc, and also attended Church on Sunday. Primary Students from Pre-Primary to Year 6 had a wonderful time at their Athletics Carnival on Wednesday 19 August. It was great to see the Year 11/12 Sport & Rec Students assisting on the day, and lots of parents/guardians there to cheer their children on. YEAR 9 – Midwest Port Tour Year 9 students were very fortunate to have a tour of the Port of Geraldton today. Not only did the students hear about the Port’s trade operations, they also learnt about some of the strategies that have been implemented to limit corrosion in our environment – tying in with a recent lesson in their science class. Corrosion expert, Dr Ian Macleod, presented the “All at Sea” learning program to students. Secondary Athletics Carnival Picture by Mr Joshua Foster What a glorious day for an Athletics Carnival today! The weather was perfect, and it was great to see Parents/Guardians there cheering the students on. Well done to the Year 12 Ball Committee who cooked up a storm and kept everyone fed and watered over the course of the day. They appreciate your support of their fundraising efforts. Week 3 Term 3

It’s great to be settling back into more “normal” routines again this term, as Covid-19 restrictions have eased somewhat since last term. Secondary students had an Assembly this week, and Primary students will have their first Assembly next week. It’s nice to see the tables set up outside the Canteen, and parents and staff enjoying being able to order coffees in the morning. The Secondary Athletics Carnival will be on next Friday 14th August – don’t forget to order lunches (burgers or sausage sizzles) online by 3pm Monday, or at Student Services (correct cash required) by 3pm Tuesday.
